For 3,000 years, Meliodas has experienced Elizabeth's death 106 times! And every time, he was deeply in love with her, yet she was cursed to die after 3 days of remembering her memories. It took everything out of Meliodas to break the curse: his emotions, the sacrifice of his friend Escanor, and Merlin's betrayal. Yet, he held up Elizabeth's promise time after time and fulfilled it. Meliodas should have gone insane with the level of tragedy, yet he persisted. I think that promise was the one thing that kept him sane. He was the only one who remembered his every encounter with Elizabeth 106 times. However, Elizabeth, despite facing brutal deaths more than 100 times(except the ones where she died peacefully), did not retain that memory. She was never burdended with the pain Meliodas went through. I am sure, she would do the same thing as Meliodas. But I always wondered what it would be for Elizabeth who had all her memories this time wittnessed Meliodas dying instead?

We saw a glimph where Elizabeth witnessed Meliodas's death but this was Elizabeth who did not have any idea about her past life, while it was sad, it was still less tragic compared to what Meliodas went through over a 100 times! I always thought that Nakaba would show us how hard it would hit Elizabeth, who had her memories to this time witness Meliodas die isntead but she kept on living for his sake..
That case would be poetic, where Elizabeth, despite being emotionally scarred kept living by taking Meliodas's example all those 3000 years, where she would be inspired by Meliodas's mental strength and do the same..
However, this time, Nakaba still used his comfort zone of making Meliodas suffer by having Elizabeth sacrifise her time with Meliodas again..
Of course like Ban, we will may see the death of Meliodas by the series's end but for once, I feel Meliodas has emotionally suffered far too long.. I want him to be spared of that and see how Elizabeth with her memories handle the similar situation?

What do you all think?

Do you think it would be more tragic if the roles were reversed??
