is it okay to text my friend months afterwards about her baby that passed?

My friend lost her baby after a few months in the NICU over the summer.

I think about her and her baby every day. I don’t really know how to be there for her in the day to day. I want to be a good friend and not be offensive. We aren’t super close, but we see each other weekly and have them over for play dates and dinners occasionally.

Is it okay to text her that I was just thinking about her and her bay and wanted to know we love her and are here for her? Is this inappropriate because it’s been a few months. I know a few months is nothing to her in terms of length, but I don’t want to stir her day up and make her upset.
