In need of smarter people than me::::
Warning: Super annoying story.
So, I'm pretty sure this is the same mouse. I can tell by the tail. Please don't make fun of my story, because I am extremely embarrassed on my own, without people telling me how bad this is.
So the mouse went into one of my humane traps in the kitchen, and I was so excited. We were on this mouse for days. I have three cats, and one of them is a huge mouse psycho--I'm telling you, this mouse must have an earpiece in his ear , the little s***.
Okay well, I lost him again. I put him in the bathtub, as I did with the last three mice I caught in this home. None of those mice got out. And then I relied on ChatGPT's 100% certain statement that the mouse will be just fine in there like the other three--it will not get out. No chance. Well it got out. The reason I put them in there in the first place is because I release them outside where they can probably take cover in my unheated garage. I was not ready to go outside that minute... I just needed to finish my cereal.
A few hours later, I was taking the garbage out from under the sink in the kitchen, and I set the big black plastic bag by the door. My mouse catcher was on it, and I recognized by her composure, or lack of, right away. The mouse must be in the bag. Sure enough, it was in the bag. I caught it again, this time putting it in a deep, cleaned out scrubbed out garbage with some water and food and bedding. Again, the only reason I do this is because I need a minute to put my shoes on, coat on etc. to bring him outside.
I lost him again. I'm really dumb. My boyfriend kept asking me about where I put him, and I kept telling him he was safe. He wouldn't get out this time. I was sure of it. The garbage I used is way too deep. But of course, I let him get to me, so I went and checked on him. The mouse jumped onto my hand, sprinted up my arm, soared off and scurried between the bathroom counter/sink and the wall in the little tiny 1/4" crack. 😐
He must have found his way back to the kitchen. I put our Furbo under the kitchen sink in the cupboard, and look who's back. As you can see, he is definitely not going to fall for my coin glass trick with peanut butter and nuts under it. He's no longer falling for the humane traps. And I'm sorry, but I am 100% against using lethal traps. I'm not going to do it so don't even mention it. I'm just not.
My only question for this post, my only question at all, is does someone have any idea as to how I could catch this guy when he comes in this space again? He's not falling for the coin thing. He's not falling for the, claim up this paper towel cardboard roll into the garbage where the food is and get stuck in there again thing... I know if I put a humane trap in there he's not going to go in it because he already got caught in there one time.
Does anyone have any ideas? I don't need judging, putting down, or anyone telling me how dumb I am or how this is all my fault. I'm good with that. I just want to know if anyone has any ideas to catch this little bugger.
Oh great, now I noticed that there is no place to add a video. Swell. So I guess there's no way to help me then really. Nvm.
