New Villagers

Hello, I am not new to Animal crossing as I played it when it first came out and so on for a year and a half. I stopped playing a while ago but recently created a new island earlier this week. I pretty much remember nothing about this game lol. On my second day playing, I invited Molly and Peanut to my island using Nook Mile tickets. It’s been like three days and they still haven’t showed up, I just placed down the three started plots that Tom Nook asks you to place/create furniture for. Did I mess up and now won’t be able to have Molly and Peanut on my island?
