It's gonna be a long few weeks...
Hello all! I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow. I was admitted yestedday for elevated blood pressure. We've been actively managing my blood pressures since early pregnancy. Theu spikes a bit at 20 weeks and they admitted me for a nifht and tweaked meds. Yesterday though, after 8 weeks of perfect blood sugars, things spiraled quickly and I had several upper severe range pressures. They admitted me for monitoring in triage and then L&D. They initially told me it would be the same as last time. Stay for a night or 2. Stabilize me and move me to antepartum. Stay a night or two and then go home. Nope. This morning when the team rounded they said they really want me to stay until 34 weeks and then induce. Said there is a very VERY slim chance I could go home after "a good while of stability" but she thinks it's unlikely.
I knew this was likely coming at some point. My son was born at 34 weeks. They warned me it would likely happen again and lead to a longer stay. I just still somehow feel unprepared.... I am actually not even as upset as I thought I would be. I think it hasn't really hit me. Aside from a small bag of my stuff set aside in an overnight bag We were so not ready for this.
Anyone have ideas to better pass the time? Things you're glad you had with you?
