Budget: around $800–1500 (flexible if it’s really worth it)

Country: Finland / EU

Condition: new or used, both are fine

Type of Camera: compact /pocket camera

Intended use: mostly photography

If photography; what style: mainly photos of myself and sometimes friends (not landscapes or wildlife)

If video what style: not very important for me, I’d probably use video only occasionally

What features do you absolutely need:

• good photo quality (noticeably better than an iPhone)

• compact size

• easy to carry around / everyday use

Portability: very important - I’d love something small that I can carry in a bag or even a pocket

Cameras you’re considering:

• Fujifilm X100VI

• Ricoh GR IIIx

• Sony RX100 VII

Cameras you already have:

• iPhone 17 Pro😅

Notes:

Lately I’ve been seeing photos on Instagram with this kind of quality (references below), and it made me want to finally get a camera. The problem is that I have basically zero experience with cameras, and the more I research, the more confused I get.

I’m mainly looking for a compact camera for taking photos of myself (and sometimes friends). I’m not planning to shoot landscapes or anything like that.

Also… please don’t suggest the Canon G7X Mark III 😅 I know it’s popular, but literally everyone has it and I’d love something a bit different.

Would really appreciate any thoughts, recommendations or experiences with similar cameras!

Fujifilm , sony or ricoh…maybe something better?🥸
