My toddler is always constipated. Should I be concerned?

18–24 Months 👼

TW: Poop. My 23 month old daughter has been pooping balls, stones and pellets for what seems like a majority of her toddler life. We’ve had a few breaks here and there, where she will have a more “normal” consistency, but they are few and far between.

She never acts like she’s in any discomfort or pain, so I haven’t worried too much about it.

The annoying part is she will poop a little bit multiple times a day. For example: she will poop 3 balls in the

Morning. Then a few more around midday. Then perhaps another little bit towards the end of the day. Sometimes she will have a larger, more compacted poop. The fact of the matter is- they’re almost never soft and mostly ball size. 😅

I try to watch her dairy intake. She only gets milk twice a day, morning and night. She loves cheese and I do have to watch how much of that she eats cuz she could eat it all day. The rest of the day she gets water and she’s pretty good about drinking water.

Anyone else experience this with your own toddler? Should I just accept this is how she poops?

I’m going to start potty training once she turns 2 at the end of month but if she poops anywhere like she does currently, I’m not sure how that’s going to affect the whole process.
