Getting off the pill?

Hi, I‘m having some hormonal problems and I thought about getting off of my birth control pill. Problem is I know I have an unfrequent, long cycle and it will probably be hard on my body. At the same time the pill causes me to have extrem hormonal fluctuations that are also bad for me. Did someone get off it while being unwell and what was the experience? Thank you!
