Return to work Restrictions — what were they for you?

49 y/o, vaginal hysterectomy (all except ovaries), urethral sling, cystocele/rectocele repairs done 1/29. Tuesday will be my first follow up at 5w5d PO with my expected RTW on Thursday at exactly 6 weeks. (My job allows me up to 6 mos STD with full pay if medically necessary.)

What restrictions did your doctors give you / what did you request? My job isn’t physically demanding, but I’m concerned about getting through the day without napping at least once, without putting my feet up (I‘m at a desk/in meetings for much of the day — I can put my feet on a footstool but it’s not the same as being up straight in front of me), and other things that are demanded of me (sometimes working through lunch etc).

While I can get up to 6 mos STD, I don’t accrue PTO during that time, and I’m afraid that if I go back PT I still won’t accrue it. Should I just ask for more time off or are there some accommodations I can ask for that will make my days tolerable?

Thanks everyone!
