[Hiring] Field IT Technician (Contract) San Antonio, TX

Location: San Antonio, TX (Local travel within Texas required)
About the Role

We are a San Antonio-based Managed IT Services provider seeking a reliable Field IT Technician to assist with client onboarding, installations, and onsite support. This is a contract position ideal for an experienced technician who is comfortable working independently and representing our company professionally at client sites.

You will primarily support small and medium-sized business clients by performing onsite technical work including workstation deployments, network troubleshooting, and infrastructure setup.

Travel will be required not only within San Antonio, but occasionally to nearby cities.

Responsibilities:

Perform onsite onboarding for new managed IT clients
Install and configure workstations, printers, and network equipment
Deploy and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Windows, and domain-joined systems
Assist with network troubleshooting (switches, firewalls, WiFi)
Install and terminate Ethernet cabling when needed
Document work performed and communicate updates with our Helpdesk team
Represent our company professionally while interacting with clients

Requirements:
Must be located in or near San Antonio, TX
Must be willing to travel to surrounding areas
Must own a Windows 11 laptop
Must have basic networking and cabling tools
Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments
Familiar with Microsoft 365 / Azure AD / Intune is a plus
Experience with business networking (switches, routers, VLANs) preferred
Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience working for an MSP or IT consulting company
Comfortable performing client onboarding and infrastructure deployments
Able to work independently onsite while coordinating remotely with our engineering team

Job Details:
Part Time Contract
$40/hour
Work assigned per project or as needed
Potential for ongoing work with multiple client projects
