Boyfriend was unwell, how long is normal to not see him/kiss him?

Basically as the title says. I know 48hrs symptom free is the usual time, but I’ve heard 2 weeks of viral shedding. Obviously I’d be in much closer contact with him than a typical workplace rule, so I’m just wondering if anyone has any advice or suggestions please? Everyone wants to follow the 48hr rule, so it’s not a response based on phobia, it’s just common sense. Although funnily enough he actually wanted to see me immediately after and I had to say no, and all my friends agreed with me haha
