Do I take the job offer or wait on two "better" options?
Hey guys! I have been job searching for a few months now and just this past week, I interviewed for three different companies in my area, which is huge for me!
For clarity's sake, I'll list the companies as Company A, B, and C. They all kind of have the same functions and job titles for outreach/marketing, program, event, and community development roles, something that I'm passionate about since I love working with and meeting new people.
I interviewed for Company C yesterday and just got a verbal offer over the phone in less than 24 hours. I was really surprised on how quick it took, but sort of happy that I got an offer that quick. (but also lmk if the 24 hour turnaround to hire me is red flag-ish or not) During the call, I thanked them and let them know I will let them know by Monday or Tuesday. I feel grateful, but as I thought about it more and more, I realized that it might not be the job for me.
First off, C is only part time and pays under $20/hr. They would have me traveling up to 200 miles/2.5 hrs semi-frequently (forgot to ask about reimbursement on gas/mileage :/) and even during the interview I just felt like the vibes were semi off (dont know how to explain it) I asked about growth too, but they said that this was a relatively new program and they envision my role transitioning to full time.
Companies A and B align much more nicely with my skills and have more growth opportunities for me, as well as the environment seems nicer. I'm still waiting on A to call me back for a second round and B to call me back on an offer (or rejection :/) by the end of next week.
I'm still job hunting, and I know that I can't harp on those other companies too much to hire. The job market sucks right now and like many of you, I am desperate, but also I need somewhere to work that wont drain me or isnt a complete waste of my time (and gas).
All that to say: should I suck it up and accept this job, even if it's not ideal? Or should I wait for the other, "better" companies to call me back?
