40 and miss gaming.Xbox or PC?

Looking to get back into gaming a little. Its been a few years and I'm trying to figure out if an Xbox or buying a budget PC is the best route.I am on a little bit of a budget so looking to do it as cost effective as possible.I'm not opposed to buying refurbished or on marketplace. What are the key things I should be looking for ? Thanks
