Making gold cap

I see lots of stuff on how to make gold here naturally. Crafting certain items, double gathering, flipping mats, WQs, etc. Most of it feels like its either for people who already have a ton of starting capital, or its just a bit of spending money. What I can't figure out is how to break into that next tax bracket so to speak.

I don't have the money to craft a billion of item X bc I can't buy the mats, reset markets, flip mounts, etc and the little stuff I can do would either take me several months or just ends up breaking even. I feel stuck.

I should add that I've only been playing for around a year so this is the first time I've been around for an expac launch so I've no idea what I should be doing right now.
