My dad sees me as a child

🏠 Family

This is mainly a vent. I am 17f. Admittedly, I am fairly ‘childish’. My special interest is dolls, I like many ‘kids’ cartoons, I collect plushies. I get excited easily, leading to stimming. My bedroom gets messy because I genuinely lack the energy to clean it. But I have a job, I am learning to drive, I go to college, I manage my own money etc. Yet my dad still thinks of me as a child and that I need to grow up. He doesn’t know much about autism. He refuses to learn (though I am getting him to read a book about it in the near future 🤞). I struggle doing tasks like remembering to bathe and eat, which is why he thinks I need to grow up. I am working on these areas but as I still live with my parents, my mum is happy to remind me. I know this post is a bit all over, but I just find it incredibly frustrating. My parents refuse to leave me home alone if I would be spending the night alone because I would ‘get scared’, which is ridiculous because I wouldn’t. I suppose I, just looking to see if anyone else’s parents are like this or anyone knows how I can make them see me as an almost adult?
