The old sunder charms and pets/summons question

When sunders were introduced in patch 2.4 or 2.5 the charms did not apply to summons/pets such as Sorc Hydra and Assassin Traps. Was this changed such that an old fire sunder charm broke fire immunes so that hydras could do damage to them? If yes, which patch was this change introduced?
