Go Color 7 (Gen II) as a tablet (sometimes)

I have been looking at Go Color 7 (Gen II) because I love my Palma, but I am wanting something bigger to read. Plus I love the color aspect because it would be another way to read books to my kids.

But I'm curious about the tablet part.
Does it function pretty well as a tablet when you want to use it like that and is getting the pen worth it?

It seems to be exactly what I'm looking for, but I just want to get opinions before I buy it.
