Genuine Question: Why Are There So Many Posts in this Sub Supporting the IRGC and Iranian Regime?

I absolutely come in peace with this question and have genuine curiosity. I see so many posts in this sub about how all the "real" Iranians actually living on Iran support the Ayatollahs and the IRGC and are completely against America/Israel... while the diaspora supporting Khamenei's downfall are simply "paid actors."

Are we really going to pretend that massive groups of genuinely left wing Iranians haven't been hugely opposed to the current regime for decades? Did we not just witness (not just reports) plenty of actual video footage of the IRGC massacring protesters?

Im so confused by the values of the majority of this sub. Is it not possible to be vehemently anti-capitalist, anti-colonialist, and anti-US intervention while acknowledging at the same time that Khamenei was an awful person and dictator?

Yes, there are many of very religious people in Iran that support the Ayatollahs. Yes, the previous Shah was a US puppet. But also a huge coalition from left to right WITHIN Iran oppose him deeply.

Am I going crazy here?
