How do I fight more than 1 person

I’ve been playing with friends more recently and I’m having a hard time trying to carry. I’m good at solos and I can win 1v1 most of the time but I’m struggling to fight more than 1 at once.

To those who can fight multiple enemies at once, how do you do it? Like what is the play style and thought process of it. Because if I go in for a shotgun kill I just end up getting shot by the teammate.
