WF-1000xm6 start in noise cancelling

Hi all,

I just picked up a pair of the new XM6 earbuds. I'm enjoying them but one issue I'm having is that when I take them out they always start in ambient sound mode. I had some XM4s that would always start in noise canceling mode. Is this a setting I can change? I have adaptive mode off, I would prefer they just always be in noise cancelling mode and it's a little bit annoying to have to turn it on every time.
