Am i this Naive or Dumb ?

Hey everyone! Actually I have recently created this reddit account and I was chilling, commenting on people post and trying to engage with them. Like everyone does.

And today I got a message request from a random person.. he asked me "where you located" i told him my state. Then he texted "Asl?" I had no idea what he's asking about..Then told me what it meant "age, sex, location " i was like why hell do you wanna know these things about me when you don't even know me?

Then he goes like "oh my god you are so new here" I felt like dumb i started searching on Google or facebook about it but didn't find anything..so I asked him again what does that mean could you tell me more.??. That assh0le said "oh I'm not here to teach anyone you'll get to know your own way.. I even asked him for a hint..but he still didn't tell me.

Ps- So the real question is what should I do when i encounter these creeps ? And where I can get this kinda knowledge? Or am I just too dumb/naive for reddit?

Also please tell me what he meant?
