**The Recovery Process**

* **Specialized Units**: KAI Daop 1 Jakarta dispatched two specialized **Rescue Trains (NR)** to the scene: the **NR "Djoko Tingkir"** (a power and rescue unit from Bukit Duri) and the **NR Rescue** (a heavy-duty recovery unit from Cipinang).
* **The Towing Operation**: Because the front carriage of the **INKA EA-203** trainset had sustained severe structural damage and had derailed, crews first had to re-rail the wheels. Once stabilized, the **NR Rescue train** hitched to the Basoetta trainset to pull it at a slow, restricted speed.
* **Destination**: The train was towed roughly **25 kilometers** from the Poris/Tangerang area to the **Manggarai Workshop (Balai Yasa)** in South Jakarta.

**Damage Assessment at Manggarai**

Once the train arrived at the workshop, engineers identified critical damage:

* **The Driver's Cab**: The "nose" of the lead car was completely mangled from dragging the trailer truck for nearly 200 meters.
* **Coupling and Electrical**: The impact shattered the front coupling mechanisms and severed internal electrical connections required for the train's automated systems.
* **Understructure**: Inspectors checked the "bogie" (wheel assembly) for warping caused by the derailment and the force of the collision.

**Service Impact**

While the damaged trainset (TS-6) remains sidelined at Manggarai for long-term repairs, PT KAI Commuter has adjusted schedules to ensure airport service remains frequent using the remaining operational trainsets.



Following the collision at the Poris level crossing on February 20, 2026, the damaged Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train (Basoetta) was evacuated in a complex recovery operation that same afternoon.
