it finally happened. i forgot what was canon and what was fanon

i was thinking about my favorite character, and i thought about how tragic their backstory was. and then i couldn't remember if that was canon or something i read in a fic.

has this happened to anyone else? i see memes of it, but i don't know if that's the minority or the majority
