Does anyone percieve music as having directions relative to oneself?
So beats (drums/percussion) are usually to my upper left, near my left temple. Arpeggios arc over my head in a swooping motion. And multiple elements can be based on my right side, or my left, and sometimes people have pointed out my eyes can move around a lot when I'm deeply listening to music, as if I'm following motions (e.g. someone walking past). It's more noticeable when I have headphones on or don't have a lot of other sounds trying to compete for my attention.
I also imagine dates as a list, basically like having a long list calendar going through each year and a new year is a new "page" to the right. But no other numerical data has any perceptual addons afaik.
The thing is that I'm strongly aphantasic and have no mental imagery outside of dreams. I always assumed that was incompatible with synaesthesia, but with these things I mentioned, it's not that I "see" them but rather I "know" them, I can feel them. And it's only recently I learned that synaesthesia is a lot more than words/numbers having colours. Is it possible that I fall on this spectrum too? Or am I just feeling the music strongly.
Thank you in advance :)
