Is it a vulnerability thing?

In regards to just wondering why some show a lack of compassion. Am I reaching, or it a case of vulnerability?

Where no one really wants to talk about it, and just say "Get over it already" to you more times than you'd like hearing. I mean I get no one wants to confront mortality, but compassion in a time of need is such a hard thing to find from people.
