Best Braid and Fluoro Leader Combo for Daiwa Tatula Setup – Need Advice
I recently bought my first casting rod and reel. The casting rod is medium-heavy, and printed on the rod it says lure weight: 1/4 - 1oz, line: 10-20lbs.
I plan to use braid as the main line with a fluorocarbon leader. While I mostly target bass, I’m looking for a great all-around setup that can handle other species as well.
Am I correct in assuming that when the rod specifies "line: 10-20lbs," it’s generally referring to monofilament?
I've been recommended 20-40lb braid for the main line and a 12-17 lb fluorocarbon leader. Since braid is thinner and stronger than mono for the same weight, would it be better to go heavier (30-40lb braid) or stick with 20lb braid?
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
