Is the Cannondale Habit HT1 a good mtb for the price?
Looking at getting back into mountain biking. I used to get out pretty regularly in my much younger days. I'm currently over weight and have been working out, trying to get back into good shape, and I can't stand running. I've managed to drop about 10 pounds in the last month but with spring around the corner, I'd love to get out and start riding to help melt some lbs.
By no means will I be out there 'ripping it up' but I'd like to get a bike that I can ride now and into the foreseeable future. I've got a couple of little girls who are already riding without training wheels, and would like to get them riding some trails (eventually) with me.
I know a full suspension isn't feasible with my budget (I'd like to stay below $1,500 and even that is pushing it a bit) so looking for a good hard tail. It seems like these can be found pretty regularly for about $1,350.
Thoughts? Are there better spec'd bikes out there for the same / less money? I'd prefer not to look at the used market as I'd rather not take a risk at getting something beat to shit / that I need to sink money into fixing.
