what was this music video?

I can remember a music video, I would say from the 1990s, but it's not beyond the pale that it could have been the 1980s. I think the song was by a hair metal-type band. the video began with a young guy living in a trailer. his parents are fighting. he drifts off into a dream where he sees the band play in an otherworldly setting. while there, a native american man presents him with a gift - possibly a feather. he wakes, and is back in the trailer, but he still has the feather from the dream. does anyone else remember this? and if so, what was the song and the artist?
