Am i the only one who thinks that winds and waves feels like a more back to basics pokemon generation?

Discussion

I mean from the announcement trailer to the main theme to the region being massive and having underwater exploration and also the potential legendaries being tied to storms (like the end of the trailer having lightning and the wave current being higher and also the gimmick having rainbows in the japanese logo).

If it's not crazy enough it's probably gonna be a more return to the franchise's roots while still trying something new i mean...

The website mentions difficult roads ahead and the forces of nature that BLOCK our path at times and we need to use our pokemon potentially like legends za, oh right...

The artstyle is a mix of scarlet and violet and za and it looks beautiful (granted it's more za than scarlet and violet and honestly it's a good thing) and it has a lot of biomes and variety and really maybe them releasing the game next year is a blessing in disguise because scarlet and violet are very poorly made thanks to the pandemic if we're being honest.

And really the gen 10 starters are more interesting than the gen 9 starterd because they actually look like real animals especially gecqua being a gecko and also for the first time since generation 7 all of the starters are universally loved than overshadowed.
