Can I get a partial refund are as buyer?

So I’ve bought some hiking boots, they have come slightly damaged( but not affecting anything) but still damaged and from the photos it was not shown, I also asked if there was anything wrong with them and he said no, I don’t really want to return them but I am annoyed that he’s not just told the truth about it, do I have to go through with the process of doing a return and try get a partial refund? Thanks
