The pomodoro timer going off is actually ruining my focus and i feel insane for saying that
Okay so i started using the pomodoro technique like three weeks ago because everyone online swears by it. 25 minutes work, 5 minute break, repeat, become a productivity god. I downloaded the app, set it up properly, even bought a little physical timer because i read somewhere that the ticking sound helps.
And here's my problem. every single time the alarm goes off i am JUST getting into it. Like not even exaggerating, the first 15 minutes i'm adjusting in my chair and checking if my water bottle is full and wondering if i should switch to a different pen. Then around minute 18-20 something actually clicks and i start making real progress. And then the timer screams at me and i have to stop.
The 5 minute break completly destroys whatever momentum i had. I stand up, look at my phone "just to strech" and suddenly it's been 23 minutes and i'm watching a video about how cargo ships navigate the panama canal. Every time. Without fail.
I've seen people say you can adjust the intervals but then isn't that just regular studying with extra steps? Idk maybe i'm just bad at this specific technique and thats okay. Does anyone else feel like the timer is working against them or did you figure out how to actually make it click?
