Stagnation and Repitition

Discussion

I think I finally came to a realization that I'm sure many others have as well but that maybe I just missed posts discussing it. I think what causes a lot of frustration and burnout for f2p players like myself is the lack of variety.

I regularly find myself waiting for that one shiny new card to rotate through my token shop so that I can build a new deck around it or a deck that it completes as I may already have all the other cards that are needed. I know I can gamble on packs but more often than not I end up getting cards I don't have any use for so instead I end up waiting what seems like an eternity for the sure thing in the shop which is more expensive.

So in the meantime I'm stuck playing the same handful of decks I have been able to create which were fun in the beginning when I first made them but now are just repetitive and boring.

I understand the hook of a CCG game like this is to trickle out cards to keep things fresh for players instead of just giving us everything all at once because that too would be boring. I know card acquisition has improved over the course of the game's lifespan but I still find myself frustrated waiting over a month for a card I want to randomly appear in my shop. As many others have said, I wish they would let us just purchase the card(s) we want directly using our currencies.

Apologies for the rant but I just needed to put that out there as this was just something that kind of finally clicked for me as to why the game has lost some of its draw for me.
