Hotel recommendations for a couple that’s half adventurous / half loungy

My husband and I are looking at visiting Puerto Rico for a quick getaway around June/July this summer. We’ll probably only have 3-4 nights to spend there. He loves to snorkel and explore, very adventurous, and I am more of a lounge by the beach reading and taking a dip here and there kind of a gal, though I also like to get out a bit. We both like yummy local places to eat. We have never been to PR, and don’t speak super amazing spanish but can usually get by ok between the little Spanish we do know and good old Google Translate. Would love any recommendations for hotels in an area that has all the good nearby snorkeling and lounging! We don’t mind splurging a little when we get a chance to be kid free so a little bit luxurious wouldn’t be a bad thing, but isn’t necessary. Not sure if we want to rent a car, probably would rather not. Thank you!!!
