Is it rare to find a tall Japanese?

I see that the average is 172 cm for men and 158 cm for women. One would be considered tall starting around 177/167 right?

Out of curiosity, I searched about tall people in Japan, and I often see either foreigners or basketball players.

In the West (and worldwide), fashion models are preferred to be tall (173-183 for women), not sure why, in East Asia they still are, but the stardards are lower, something around 165, like "good luck finding someone that tall here".
