University Student Looking for a laptop ~$1200 USD; Casual + Light Gaming
My Macbook Air's screen finally bit the dust and I'm looking to go Windows for my next laptop since I want to start doing some light gaming.
- Total budget: $1200USD; located in the US -- can be a little over but not by much
- Are you open to refurbs/used? Ideally, no
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Looking for good build quality and ideally good battery life, any form factor is fine but thin and light preferred.
- How important is weight and thinness to you? 7/10
- Do you have a preferred screen size? 12-14in, anything within that range
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.
- Drawing; Clip Studio Paint but I use big canvases and a lot of layers which would cause my M1 Air to lag and stutter
- Light Video Editing (lower priority)
- Gaming: mostly gacha games -- Honkai Star Rail, ZZZ, Wuthering Waves
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? Good keyboard would be a nice to have though not a priority, looking for something that has decent IO (at least an HDMI port if possible)
