Am I 20F being paranoid about my bf 21M not replying for hours at a time?

TL;DR: my (20f) bf (21m) will be gone regularly for up to 6 or more hours a day “napping”. Am I being paranoid?

We’ve been together for 4-5 months so far and I really love him. I’ve got some self esteem issues which can be quite a struggle to not let get in the way sometimes. I’m getting help for these but it’s been a slow process and something I think I always will struggle with. I’m open with this and he also deals with the same.

Everything has been going really good so far. The nature of how we met has meant we are in very close proximity and see each other almost everyday. I really enjoy spending time with him but also encourage him to spend time with friends or just have time to himself occasionally. Same goes for me. I think this is important because it’s not healthy to spend every moment together. He will go out with his friends in different cities every now and then and I will do the same. Sometimes I get a bit paranoid but in the end I know he wouldn’t do anything and so I don’t let those anxieties develop into anything further.

However atm on the days we are apart I’ve started noticing a pattern. We will message back and forth just keeping up to date throughout the day but not too often. I will message him then won’t receive a reply for hours at a time. Currently rn it’s been six hours. If it’s been a long time like today I’ll give him a text just to ask if he’s ok if I’m not aware that he has plans that would mean he can’t reply. Usually I’ll come to find out that he was napping. I find this hard to believe? He’s very diligent about his sleep schedule and doesn’t like wasting the day sleeping for so long. It just seems strange that he is regularly having naps for 5 hours or more at a time and then sleeping a full nights sleep no problem? It’s just leaving my mind to wander off thinking of what could he be doing for so long that he can’t tell me about? Idk this is where I think it’s just paranoia? I know he wouldn’t do anything in regard to cheating as it goes against all his values however part of me keeps going back to that thought and it’s becoming harder to ignore.

I think this anxious way of thinking is being heightened by a few things. My boyfriend is very lovely but can be very particular. Usually this doesn’t bother me but I’ve been noticing it more as of recent. If he’s already having a bad day he has a lot less patience with me. If I’m not doing something his way or to his standard/quick enough he will become easily agitated. He doesn’t usually tell me when I’m annoying him in that way but it is very obvious and easy to read. If I ask him he will admit it.

I’ve also noticed he doesn’t give me as many compliments. We started the relationship with him telling me how attractive he finds me etc. But now he very rarely will compliment me apart from in response to me complimenting him. This is a silly one i admit. I find him unbelievably attractive and I often find myself just staring at him in awe. I always tell him how attractive he is and how handsome or hot I find him. Maybe I’m just more expressive with it but it is something I’m noticing. There’s less affection as well idk I just wish there was more intimacy outside of a sexual setting. This is likely just insecurities.

I think just everything combined has led to me constantly feeling like I need to be more for him. It’s not something I like to bring up for reassurance because his ex was very jealous and jealous is a big trigger for him. But without the reassurance of even just an occasional compliment or unprompted kiss I can’t help but think he’s just not feeling it as much?
