Androgen Receptors

It has been scientifically proven that every time a rat ejaculates/orgasms, that androgen receptor sensitivity decreases in the body. If you are not aware of what androgen receptors are, they are nuclear proteins that bind to testosterone and DHT to carry out effects on the body. Without androgen receptors, testosterone and DHT are inactive (have no effect on the body). When abstinent, the androgen receptors regain sensitivity overtime. All mammals with vertebrate have androgen receptors/produce testosterone and DHT and it plays a crucial role in role in their lives, just like humans.

One study showed that when abstinent, testosterone levels in men increase around day 7, but there is no research on actual androgen level sensitivity in humans and how long it takes for them to fully recover. Research in rats shows an effect in sensitivity immediately after sexual activity, and that rats who frequently ejaculated had longer periods of recovery. As a result, I believe that in humans someone who ejaculates twice a day would take longer to fully recover compared to someone who ejaculates once every 3 days, but once again there is no research in humans to back my claim as more than opinion.

I really find it interesting that although many of the studies were focused on the effects towards male rats, there were some that had both male and female test subjects. BOTH the male and female rats were affected after sex and their androgen receptors weakened. It makes me wonder how although women don’t release semen, how does frequent sex and androgen receptor sensitivity negatively impact women?

It really bums me out how western medicine is always looking to “cure” something but never looking at the root cause of it. I feel like studies on things like human androgen receptor sensitivity could really change how we view health and sex as a whole. Can’t make money off people if they are all “cured” I guess…
