Sophomore at a target school with 2 BB internships — here's the exact Notion system I used to stay organized during recruiting
Recruiting as a sophomore was genuinely overwhelming. At peak cycle I was managing:
\- 30+ active bank applications across different groups and deadlines
\- Hundreds of networking emails and coffee chat follow-ups
\- Multiple superday preps happening simultaneously
\- Technical prep across DCF, LBO, and M&A concepts
I couldn't find a system that actually worked for all of this at once. Most advice online is "make a spreadsheet" — which breaks down fast when you're tracking 30 banks with different groups, contacts, and timelines.
So I built one in Notion. Over a few months it evolved into a full recruiting operating system with 6 components:
\- \*\*Application Tracker\*\* — every bank, group, deadline, and status in one pipeline
\- \*\*Networking CRM\*\* — every contact, coffee chat, and follow-up managed systematically
\- \*\*Superday Interview Log\*\* — log every round, interviewer, and debrief note in real time
\- \*\*Technical Mastery Tracker\*\* — organize your entire technical prep with a progress system
\- \*\*Behavioral Story Bank\*\* — store and refine your STAR stories by competency
\- \*\*Recruiting Timeline & Roadmap\*\* — week-by-week from sophomore summer through offer
I ended up landing 2 bulge bracket internships. I genuinely think staying organized was a big part of that — not because organization is magic, but because I never dropped the ball on a follow-up, never missed a deadline, and walked into every interview knowing exactly where I stood with every firm.
A few people in my network asked me to share the system so I cleaned it up and put it on Gumroad for anyone going through the same thing.
It's $19.99 — link in the comments if anyone wants it. Happy to answer any questions about recruiting in the comments too.
