Best yarn for plushies, where can I find good selection

Hey there, community. I'm having such a hard time now that Joann Fabrics isn't a store anymore, and I have a moral conflict with Hobby Lobby. My local Michael's store is trying to pick up the Joann brands and selections, but they have yet to stock cotton solids.

I'm primarily making Pokemon characters, so I need vibrant colors. I've used cotton and bamboo yarns for the plushies I've made, but I'm open to trying other textures if I can get the right colors. I ordered yarn online almost a month ago that is still in Hong Kong. Where do you shop? What do you buy for plushies projects?
