Unplayable lag in the island?

I tried looking online but don't see any threads specifically about this, is anyone else having literally unplayable lag whilst in the island?

Like I can't even walk two steps without the whole game pausing for 5 seconds, then stuttering some more, then pausing, then stuttering. It crashes during cutscenes. If I try to go into one of the team hub areas you can forget about it. Straight up can't play the game at this point. All I want to do is unlock the characters and be done with this mode.

Weirdly it never did it the first day I played, only the past couple days it's gotten worse and worse.

And before anyone asks, no it's not my connection. I have full fibre on wired with 300mbps download on a bad day.
