AITAH for refusing to share my live location with my boyfriend during my commute?
I'm a 26-year-old woman living and working in central Delhi. My commute is a mix of metro and a short auto ride, and I'm careful about safety - pepper spray, keeping my phone charged, not wearing both earbuds, etc.
My boyfriend is 28 and we've been together a little over a year. Lately he's been pushing me to share my live location every day 'so he knows I'm safe.' I did it a couple of times when I was coming home late, but now he wants it on basically all the time.
What's bothering me is it stopped feeling like care and started feeling like monitoring. He checks it constantly and texts things like 'why did you stop for 6 minutes' or 'why are you taking that lane.' If my phone loses signal in the metro, he'll call multiple times and then get upset that I didn't pick up. When I told him it makes me anxious and like I'm being watched, he said I'm being dramatic and that any partner who cares would do this.
I offered a compromise: I'll message him when I reach the office and when I get home, and I'll share my location if I'm out late. He says that's not enough and accused me of 'hiding something' because I don't want him watching me all the time.
Now he's giving me the cold shoulder and telling our mutual friends that I'm refusing something basic that would make him feel better.
AITAH for saying no to sharing live location daily and sticking to check-ins instead?
