Check the details when negotiating- Sky Agents very underhand
I have had a very bad experience with Sky this week, as with many people I was appalled at the April price increases, it equated to £9 per moth increase for me taking me up to £135 a month. I checked Virgin and a similar package is £91/ month with better broadband and a £50 welcome referral from my mate.
I couldn’t get talking to anyone it was all done by text, I hated that but was told that is how they do it now, went through the usual rigmarole of trying to cancel only to be passed around, the agent offered me £113/ month and I declined, lots more messing around and they offered £103 with Cinema for £3 more, £106 in total. To save the hassle of learning a new system with Virgin I agreed, this was all being done by text, they sent an overview that I scan read (huge mistake), I did not notice they got down to £103 by removing Netflix without ads and UHD.
I only noticed then when reading the email contract confirmation that arrived later. I got back on the text and they insisted I had agreed on the text so nothing they could do, to add Netflix with out ads was another £7.49. I genuinely feel I have been mislead as at no time was the removal of these things communicated clearly, only in the midst of a long long SMS.
I am going to formally complain to Sky, has anyone else had this issue or raised a complaint about an issue like this before?
