Why does my laptop's battery report show 2 different original capacity values?

So I'm using a HP Pavilion x360, windows 11 and I just wanted to check my battery's current health and original capacity. So, as one does I got a battery report but I don't quite understand what my original battery capacity is.

Now according to the battery report, both my design capacity and full charge capacity are 29,178 mWh but when I checked the battery report history, it shows both the design capacity and full charge capacity in 2023 as 40,748 mWh.

Now from what I've seen online the design capacity is the original battery capacity and it shouldn't change, so why is the report showing 2 different values for the design capacity. Does it actually mean that my original battery capacity was 40,748 mWH but now its 29,178 mWh?
