I kept losing what I learned about my land every winter. Built something to help remember.

Five years into this and I still do the same thing every spring. And that is: stand there trying to remember what I figured out the previous season. Which bed did well. When the first frost actually hit, not what the almanac says. What I tried on the squash bugs and whether it worked. By March I’ve forgotten everything.

I tried keeping notes. I have a shelf of notebooks that collectively contain maybe forty useful observations and a lot of grocery lists.

So I built something to help. You hold a button and talk while you're outside. You can say "I transplanted the brassicas to the north bed," "first hard frost, earlier than last year," "the garlic in the raised bed did better than in-ground, maybe the drainage." It remembers everything you give it and lets you ask questions later. After a couple of seasons, it starts noticing patterns you'd never catch on your own.

It's called Percy. Launching this spring, free to try for your first season.

Honestly, just curious whether this resonates with anyone here or whether you've all got a system that actually works and I've been solving a problem that's just mine :-)
