Stuck in Sri Lanka!

I’m stuck in Sri Lanka. I had a flight from Sri Lanka to Amsterdam via Doha with Qatar Airways on Sunday, March 8, but of course it got canceled. I’m looking for alternative routes that don’t go through Gulf countries. Everything is either fully booked or ridiculously expensive—like €3,000–4,000. I’ve looked at other routes through India, or via Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, China, etc. The earliest tickets I can find are around March 14–15, and still at those prices.

Has anyone else managed to get from Sri Lanka to Europe in the last couple of days? How did you handle it? Were you able to get a refund from Qatar? Or did anyone contact Qatar and manage to find a route via one of their partner airlines? I tried calling them today, but the Sri Lanka office seems to be closed on Sundays. I’ll try again tomorrow. I just don’t know how this will work out…
