Should I get Marathon?

So I'm debating if I should spend the money and pick up Marathon. I've played a ton of Destiny and most of Bungie's Halo games, but not all of them and not the original Marathon.

Here's the thing, I don't like Tarkov, I played like maybe 8 hours and hated it. I didn't hate it because it was an extraction shooter, I hated it because it felt like I spent so long in game, and then died so fast. It was a combination of the slow pace, and high lethality.

With that being said, I've seen ads for this game, and they look much more fast paced. So what actually is the pace of the game? And how fast is the ttk?
