I am very lost and hoping for some advice - US & EU citizen looking to move
I am 23 and have a GED (high school equivalent); luckily I have both US and EU passports.
I have to go to America for 3-4 months and am planning to get a job while I'm there; saving funds.
After that though? I have to move. The thing is, whether I stay with my father or with my mother in the EU or the US, they're either abusive or bigoted. So, I've decided to move; and I have about 4 months to think about where to go, and I've been having trouble doing so; getting anxious a lot over what to do.
I need recommendations - any and all recommendations would be nice.
I am pre-everything (technically just hrt, I've been out socially for years) right now, but am sincerely looking to start after I move; DIY or not.
The only languages I speak are English and Estonian, so deciding to go to a country where the main language isn't English, or where it isn't possible to stay at an expat area are out of the question, as even if I can learn the language, I can't get over the fear of not finding a job and maybe even a place without speaking the local language.
Due to some hardships, I never graduated and only have a high school equivalent (GED); and my formal EU studies were stopped at 7th grade, with me finishing 11th in person (in an American high school); and dropping out start of senior year.
I ideally want a place where I can afford to live, without having to live paycheck to paycheck and am able to further my education or learn a skill in the future, to avoid being stuck in one state of life.
That same place should have decent trans rights and lgbtq+ communities as well...
And I have no idea where to start - I was thinking maybe going to Chicago in the US; a safer place, but I don't like how the US is right now and so I don't know if that's a good idea - considering the country itself doesn't have anything good for the people (there's no universal health care, you're one health issue away from homelessness and there's almost no ways to escape a paycheck to paycheck life if you end up in one) and is politically turning worse by the day.
Then I thought Ireland - but apparently the housing is horrible there, the healthcare access (for hormones at least) is a few years, though I might be able to do DIY there; but I also heard the job market is shit, so I don't really know...
Ugh, I seriously don't know.
