Moving back to AZ and looking for suggestions!
Hey Phoenix!
I am moving back to Arizona (was there last in 2018) to be closer to family. So much has changed over the years whenever I go back for holidays and would love some insight!
For context, my parents are waaaay north Phoenix and I do have a younger brother at ASU who have given me some info (he said Queen Creek would be awesome). But I have a five year old now and am looking for a community for my family. We are artists, love being outdoors and lean pretty progressive (not that that matters too much, we’ve been living in the Deep South).
I don’t think finding jobs will be too difficult as I’ve kept up licensure in Arizona in my field of work (10 years in the field) and my partner has a background in systems administration. I do know that cost of living has gone up a good bit since I last lived there, so that’s another factor to consider. We’ll definitely be renting the first year.
What areas do you feel are good to check out based on education, things to do, and an atmosphere for a young family? Being within an hour or so drive of my parents is fine, so I’m not dead set on being right next to them. But I’m even open to going more north because I remember it being really accessible for outdoor activities (like Prescott but I think it’s crazy expensive now). Would love to hear your thoughts, AZ! Thank you so much and appreciate any and all advice 🌵🏜️
