[Complete] [80K] [Spy thriller w/ sci fi elements] Ashes of Allegiance

Hello, I’m looking for some beta readers to evaluate my manuscript.

The story follows a medical student whose normal life ends in a matter of days when an invasion destroys his city and someone who he loved turns out to be on the other side of it.

Drafted into a covert program, Sebastian Carter spends seventeen months training, losing people, and becoming someone he doesn’t fully recognise — all while hunting the person who caused his suffering. When he finally finds them, the question isn’t whether he can beat them. It’s whether the person he’s become is worth what it cost to get there.

This is book 1 of a planned series. 88,000 words.

Here is what I am looking for when evaluating:

- Is the antagonist a credible villain?

- Do the emotional beats hit?

- Does the first act (first 5 chapters) feel rushed, dragged, or just right?

- Were any characters lacking in personality?

- Does the ending feel earned?

- Would you read the sequel if it were to be made?
