Privacy screen

I've been testing the privacy screen modes and for the regular mode it doesn't seem to do much. If you hold the phone further away (simulating looking from another person's view) it seems to be better. But the maximum mode seems to show a greyish hue vs the blacked out look I've been seeing.

Is anyone else seeing this?
